EndNote and EndNote Web

Please transition from EndNote before the end of 2021

Fresno State's institutional EndNote license is not being renewed due to the very high cost of the license and budgetary constraints.

Clarivate, the company that currently owns EndNote (as well as the Web of Science databases), has recently advised the campus that, since we are not renewing our institutional license, you will lose the ability to access EndNote Desktop and your EndNote libraries at the end of this calendar year. They can do so by deactivating our institutional product key that allows you to open the EndNote application that you downloaded from the campus' IT software page. Without EndNote Desktop, you will be unable to access, sync, or export your citation library, open attached PDFs or other files, or use Cite While You Write in Microsoft Word.

In order not to lose access to the content of your library, we've outlined your options below.  Please be sure to make the transition before the end of 2021.
Go to our EndNote Transition guide for more information on these options

♦  Purchase an individual EndNote Desktop license
Fresno State has negotiated special pricing for individual students and employees (faculty and staff)

♦  Sync your Desktop library and move to EndNote Online

♦  Transfer your citations and PDFs to Zotero

♦  Transfer to another citation manager
