APA (American Psychological Association) Style is most commonly used in the social and behavioral sciences.
APA officially released an updated 7th edition manual in October 2019, new style changes can be viewed here on the APA Style site. Most courses have moved to APA 7th at Fresno State. Here is what you need to know for this semester:
For the most part, Fall 2020 is the consensus adoption date for Fresno State to switch to APA 7th. Theses and Dissertations will be expected to be in APA 7th starting in Fall 2020. Visit the Graduate Writing Studio for more information.
Most courses require APA 7th this semester, ask your instructor which edition you are expected to use.

The most substantial changes introduced in the APA 7th Edition Manual are layout, differentiation between student and professional papers, some minor formatting issues for reference list and in-text citation entries. You can see examples on the APA Style website.
