The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) defines a "small business" as one with fewer than 500 employees and less than $7 million in sales. That seems pretty big to me!  Local SBA offices in Fresno and surrounding areas provide region-specific information and support.

Both the State of California and the City of Fresno also actively promote small business development.
