An organic chemistry professor at Fresno State for 31 years, besides being known as a stellar instructor, Dr. Vavoulis was also very active in the community. He founded the Fresno Free College Foundation in 1968 to support free speech and academic freedom. He also founded KFCF in 1975, the first listener supported radio station in the area.
