Tracing California Legislation

Chapters (Bills Which Have become Law)

First, identify the chapter number for a specific bill, using:

either:
Bill Information 1993-
Search by keyword or author, or browse list of bills by session.
The chapter number is included in the Bill Status, and the text as chaptered is in the Bill Text section.

or Assembly/Senate Histories:
The Histories are arranged by bill number and indexed by author

Assembly and many Senate final histories are available online 1881-

An index is in the last volume for each year. Identify chapter numbers by bill number or topic.

Statutes 1993-
Search by bill number and year of keywords to find the chapter number.
