The Brengelman Book Collection, named in honor of former faculty member Frederick H. Brengelman, encompasses a diverse array of topics related to LGBTQ+ experiences in the United States, focusing primarily on literature and writings by and about lesbians and gay men. Spanning publications from 1905 to 2015, the collection features significant contributions from The Source LGBT+ Center and includes a large portion from the personal library of Tiana Arruda, a Brazilian Bay Area activist and lesbian. Covering themes such as feminism, the gay liberation movement, and the evolution of homosexuality in American society, this collection highlights the narratives and contributions of LGBTQ+ individuals, fostering a deeper understanding of their histories and struggles.
