What is International Education Week?

International Education Week (IEW) is an opportunity for schools across the US to celebrate and highlight the role internationalization plays on our campuses.  IEW is a joint initiative of the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Department of Education; created to celebrate the benefits of international education and exchange worldwide, as well as, promote programs that prepare Americans to become better global citizens through study and research abroad experiences.

What is the International Showcase?

Here at Fresno State, we are honored to use this nationwide event to showcase our international achievements and contributions to the internationalization of our campus. Our International Showcase is an opportunity for both colleges and students to display their new globally-driven initiatives and experiences.  Professors showcase their international research, international student clubs promote their involvement in the community, students highlight their research and study abroad experiences and much more.  Posters are created by the participants and displayed in the library during International Education Week, followed by a reception and open forum to formally recognize and thank our contributors and their dedication to expanding the role of internationalization at Fresno State.

What is International Culture Night?

International Culture Night (ICN) is an annual event marking the end of International Education Week.  ICN is sponsored by the International Student Services and Programs office and is a student coordinated and run event promoting international cultural awareness, while providing leadership and professional development opportunities to students. During the event, performances depicting different cultures are put forth by students from a wide variety of countries and cultures. ICN is a free event open to the public highlighting dance, music, songs, fashion and other acts of international flavor.
