What is International Education Week?
International Education Week (IEW) is a national celebration held in November that showcases the importance and benefits of international education and exchange around the world. IEW plays an important role in the effort to promote programs that prepare U.S. students for a global environment and to attract future leaders from abroad to study and exchange experiences.
Nov. 15 - International Education Week Kickoff
Nov. 21 - International Culture Night
International Showcase is an event where Fresno State students, faculty, and staff, individually or in groups, display posters of their global initiatives and experiences, including international research, community involvement, and study abroad experiences. Posters are created by participants and displayed in the library during International Education Week. This is an important program to recognize the international accomplishments of Fresno State members and those who have contributed to internationalization on campus.
International Culture Night (ICN) is a symbolic event of International Education Week that marks the end of this festive week. It showcases a wide variety of cultural dance, music, song, and fashion performances by students from various countries and cultural backgrounds. Organized by the International Student Services and Programs Office and coordinated by students, this program aims to raise international cultural awareness on campus as well as provide students with leadership opportunities.
