ICPSR

Restricted-use data contain sensitive information (i.e., information that can cause potential cause harm if revealed) or information that enables the potential identification of respondents through inference. Data may also be restricted-use because of confidentially promises or proprietariness.

There are several methods to access secure restricted data from ICPSR depending on the dataset and type of restriction.  In general, all will require

• an application,
• agreement form,
• data protection plan
• CV from individual who will be accessing the restricted data
• IRB approval, and
• appropriate Fresno State approvals.

Some studies also require a additional fees, which are not covered by ICPSR membership.
