The following databases focus specifically on materials within the field of engineering, and often contain advanced searching features to help you find exactly what you need.

Engineering Village
Over 6,000,000 journal articles, technical reports, conference papers and proceedings covering all areas of engineering. Content dates from 1970 to the present.
IEEE Xplore
Full text access to technical literature in electrical engineering, computer science, and electronics. Contains full text documents from IEEE and IET journals, transactions, magazines, letters, conference proceedings, and standards.
ASCE Library
Full text access to the journals of the American Society of Civil Engineers.
Google Scholar (Through Proxy)
Google Scholar provides a simple way to broadly search for scholarly literature across many disciplines and sources
Web of Science
Search current and retrospective multidisciplinary information from approximately 8,500 of the most prestigious, high impact research journals in the world.
ASTM Compass
Approx 13,000 active ASTM Standards, historical versions dating back ~20 years, plus redlined version comparisons between any 2 versions. Manuals, Monographs, STPs, Data Series and 9 Journals, all dating back ~50 years, dealing with the development and application of standards.
ACM Digital Library
This source provides tables of contents, abstracts for selected articles, reviews, and over 31,000 full-text articles from ACM journals, magazines, and conference proceedings since 1985.
SpringerLink
Includes current and back issues of Springer/Verlag & Birkhauser publications in the fields of biology/biomedicine, chemistry, geosciences, computer sciences, mathematics, medicine, physics, engineering, ecology, and economics. Includes more than 1,100 peer-reviewed journals, comprising more than 600,000 individual documents.
Science Direct
ScienceDirect contains much of the world's science, technology and medicine full text and bibliographic information. Includes online reference works, handbooks, book series, and over 600 journal titles.
